Gardening is lifelong studying of the interactions of plants and soil and animals.
But everyone starts with very little knowledge.
We can improve by reading, learning from other people or simply trying ourself.
Here are some sources of good knowledge and helpful organizations,
but the best is to try yourself.

Watermanagement
Water has a small head! This popular sentence is great.
Water is flexible, fast, difficult to control.
It is very important to understand
how much and how fast water can dry away,
how fast water can run away into deeper soil layers,
how much steam can come up from groundwater seas,
what can fix or conserve water,
how shadow improves and how hot sun is damaging soil, ....
Providing shadow, covering earth with water stopping leafs or gras,
adding clay, charcoal, compost, dung, ... are some ways to improve watercontent
or the ability to drink and to keep water.
Then the next step is a well or using riverwater.
A water pump will cost about 200 dollar and needs expensive petrol.
But to provide enough water for a big garden can not be done manually.
